When I think about myself and my life 4 years back, I had no beacon of light to guide me. I didn’t know by then that which is the best career for me. What should I do? Where should I apply? Which is the right University for me?

You see, in Pakistan you only grow up with the dream of becoming a doctor, a pilot or an engineer. Your parents tell you that they want you to succeed in life and the only way to succeed is to get enough good grades to be accepted in a good med-school or engineering school. No one tells you that if you try your level best and still don’t get accepted in these institutions, what else you can do in life?

When you don’t get in these institutions, you feel low, you feel like your world is crumbling and crushing, there is no hope for you.

So, 4 years back the same thing happened to me, I didn’t know that what else I could do with my life? This is the moment where career counseling comes handy. If I had some counselor at that point in my life to show me the way, it would have been easier for me.

My younger sister is facing the same issues these days. It lighted a bulb over my head that I can do something for all these students who are going through the same phase, who are struggling with identity issues.

Now, Amal has given me an opportunity to guide other people. So I want to execute my vision of guiding all these youngsters and showing them the right path for them, so that they don’t have to face anxiety and depression at such a young age. I would conduct sessions with these young students by collaborating with different colleges.

“Don’t let the society shape your dreams.’’

I want to reach out to every single student struggling with career and want to inform then, first explore things/fields. I really want to guide them about different fields they can go through with. I want them to discover more opportunities in diverse fields that are leading the world.

Career counseling will provide them the opportunity to find themselves, to find satisfaction, to find the field where their heart lie. This counseling would change their way to seeing success, it can and will change the true meanings of success for them and their families.
